My approach to the treatment of psychological problems is to use psychotherapy supported
by psychotropic drugs if necessary. The psychotherapy I pursued is insight oriented but
pragmatic. I believe that before we can make changes to our lives we need to understand
the factors that contributed to our present difficulties. However, unless we can start practicing
new forms of thinking, feeling and behaving all the intellectual insights in the world will benefit
us little. Therefore, exploration of early family influences must proceed hand in hand with
addressing and resolving present problem areas.
